Chinney Yeap

Colour Director
"People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people never forget how you made them feel." - Unknown

Introducing Colour Director Chinney Yeap.  She is strong, dynamic and ever evolving.  In her 20s, Chinney knew she wanted to work at the top salon with "a vision that I truly believed in".  She knew it was critical for her growth that she was surrounded by phenomenal creative talent.  Chinney chose Buoy as the place to make the vision her reality.

Chinney has dipped her feet into World of Fashion Week and Fashion.  This is where editorial and competition hair became her passion.  She developed a real love and understanding of the formulating of colour and the technical aspects of the world of colour.  After 6 years at Buoy, she decided to spread her wings and with the support of her team and family, she left Wellington to another fashion capital - Auckland - and then Melbourne, Australia where she joined a team of colourists where she was soon fully booked and in high demand.

Chinney continued to win competitions and represented her country.  She was the first New Zealander to win at a live international competition in Monaco - this still remains one of her many career highlights, along with landing the title of People's Choice at the 2016 Australasian Hair Expo Awards.  Chinney is now back with her Buoy family leading the Buoy Colour Dream Team and continues to be a mentor and leader in her field.
